Questions You Should Ask Your Car Towing Company Before Hiring Them

January 9, 2017

Car Towing Questions to Ask

We want our customers to get the best possible service every time they call, which is why we think it’s important to know just what to look for in terms of a top-grade car towing company. There’s a lot at stake when you’re stranded on the road; don’t be left wondering when it comes to your mechanic.

How Many Trucks Do You Employ in Your Car Towing Company?

This is an important one because it could mean the difference between a twenty-minute rescue, and waiting an hour and a half on a busy highway. Of course, there is always the possibility that even a large fleet could be busy at the same time, but the more trucks available through a car towing company, the more likely it is that you’ll get service quickly and efficiently.

What is Your Average Time of Arrival?

This question goes hand in hand with the first, because even if a car towing company has a minimal number of trucks on hand, they could still be faster than a competitor due to the volume of calls they receive on a weekly basis. Standard times differ between brands, but if you find that times exceed 45 minutes on average, it might be time to look elsewhere. Of course, you must also factor your proximity to the company at the time of a stall.

What Types of Payment are Accepted?

There’s nothing worse than having the car towing company arrive and realizing that all you have on you is an AMEX and they only take MasterCard. By asking ahead of time you will save yourself the trouble of having the wrong card on hand. You may also be able to put your card on file at the shop so that they can run it without you needing to have it in your pocket during the tow experience.

What Are Your Hours of Operation?

This is a crucial question to ask any potential car towing company because it could save you from getting stuck in the snow all night or having to call a competitor for a lift. Most tow operations have at least one driver on call for a 24/7 pickup, but the number of towers on duty during the day and night will differ, so be sure to ask about that as well.
